Endowed with power from on high, the Word of God has been poured into Tarita Song Byrd, enabling her to universally articulate the Kingdom message of God to His people. With an anointed mezzo-soprano voice, Tarita’s lyrics flow from spirit to spirit, diminishing the residue that has been left on the hearer due to the impact of years of negative lyrics reinforcing a lowly self-worth and lack of Kingdom Identity.
It is the heart and destiny of this Byrd to take flight! Sharing dreams and visions from a higher perspective, Tarita endeavors to encourage, uplift, and decree change in the lives of each listener through her music.
Tarita is fluent in the universal language of song, equipped with the wisdom and understanding of the true purpose and power of music. She skillfully uses her voice as a weapon to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and tear down the negative ideas that have been reinforced by some of today’s music.
Having recently signed as an artist with Ekklesia Music Group, Tarita now has the platform needed to be a light that shines in dark places revealing the truth and revelation of God’s love.
Currently, Tarita is writing, co-arranging and co-producing her upcoming Debut CD “Flight”, and is surely a force in the earth re-establishing righteousness for the Kingdom of God! Her approach is one from a place of obedience to the call of action God has given her.
“As God poured the songs into me for Flight, I soon began to realize that there was a deliberate theme. God commanded me to arise – to take flight. And through my music, He is calling all of His people to do just that: arise, and shine for thy light has come. The light that He placed on the inside of you, for His glory (Isaiah 60:1). Once we arise, and come up higher in Him, our eyes are opened to a great truth: His Word has an answer to every excuse, every lie that we’ve been told, every insecurity, any and every weapon that has been formed against us. God has made precious promises to us that we could never have earned. His boundless love invites us to live whole, healed, free and full of joy. And I believe that the music God has given me will enable the listener to encounter the love and presence of God, leaving them forever changed.”
Her debut album title “Flight” is not only befitting given her name, but also a testament to the transformation she has allowed God to perform in her.
“It’s very important to me that I’m honest about my testimony. I understand that by the blood of Jesus AND the word of our testimony have we overcome. God caused me to triumph over low self-image and low self-worth. At some point along the way, I began to believe the lies of discouragement and doubt that those around me spoke into my life. But once I focused my attention and my affection on Jesus, and the Word of God, He truly transformed me by the renewing of my mind. I realize that this is the reality of many…that because of lies that one or two people told, entire destinies are being wasted. But God! He has said some amazing things about us in His Word, and His Word will not relent until it performs! Once I began to believe God’s truth about my identity, doors opened that I never imaged I could ever walk through.”
Along with declarative anthems and calls to action like “IWSM (I Won’t Stop Me) & “Arise”, Flight will include a solid offering of powerful worship music to usher the listener right into the presence of God. Tarita understands that it is the presence of God, and His irreplaceable anointing that will break the chains from the hearts and minds of His people.
“There is nothing that can match the anointing of God. It is only through a tangible encounter will yokes be broken. Before we can arise and answer the call, we must be free. And the only one thing that can free us is the Word – is Jesus. On songs like “I Love Your Name” & “Where You Are,” we can simply shower Jesus with the adoration that He is due. And there is nothing that I love more than experiencing the presence of God. There is nothing like it.”
Tarita’s excitement about her debut album is shared by all who hear the music. The totally unique writing and production of songs like her first single, “IWSM (I Won’t Stop Me)”, is a clear indication that God has given her a completely fresh and untapped sound.
“When I listen to these songs at their completion point, I am completely in awe of God. Just amazed. He gave me the seeds – lyrics and a melody – and our terrific production team cultivated and developed them, tapping into the heart of God to create compositions and arrangements that I’ve never heard before. I just continue to be so very grateful at every point of this journey. Excited doesn’t begin to describe what I’m feeling. I’m expecting great things from the great God I serve.”
